Take a scenic drive on E Green River Road to Sommer's Homestead, visit this recently restored testimony to our western heritage, and continue on this very scenic road to the Lander Trail Historical Park. Complete your journey with a visit of the Museum of the Mountain Man, and be assured that you have a new experience of how the West was settled!

The Newfork Crossing Historical Park is a 100-acre park, located on the west bank of the New Fork River in western Wyoming, where tens of thousands of emigrants using the Lander Trail crossed in wagons and often camped, half-way on their long journey west.

The New Fork River Crossing Historical Park has been selected by the Advisory Council for Historic Preservation (ACHP) as one of their “106 Success Stories.” The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation is preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) in 2016
